Sixth I.B.S.

Psalm 90:12

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

This Psalm makes me think of all the times that I’ve heard people say YOLO. While this term was made secularly, it can be taken and used in the Christian lifestyle. While the world will say that life is short so do whatever you want, this life is for your enjoyment and you can just accept Christ on your deathbed. The Christian can say life on earth is short, you don’t know when you’re going to die, or when Jesus is going to come back, so prepare yourself and do His will until that day comes. Live for Him every day because our days on earth are numbered. If we are taught to number our days, then we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. If we knew how many days we have to live on this earth, we would live them differently. I’m think that if God put a stamp on every babies foot when they were born to show the doctors and the parents how many days that child would live that 1, there would be no doubt In anyone’s heart that there is a God, and for the most part, 2, that those families and those kids would be living their lives to please God till the end of their life span. They would live their lives applying wisdom unto their hearts. They would treat others differently, they would understand life is not worth living for the world, they would have wisdom that can only come from above. While people feel like Christians use the “you don’t know when you’re going to die” or “God is coming soon” lines almost as a scare tactic, but truthfully one of the reasons why Christians need to be living for Him in wisdom now is because there is no later. We can only live for now and now is when we need to prepare for Him when He comes at that now.

I need to be living with heavenly wisdom in my heart all the time. I will add to my everyday prayer that God will not only fill me with His Holy Spirit, but with His wisdom as well.
